Motorola introduces new performant low-cost smartphone

If you always wanted a smartphone but never had enough money for that, you might will get a chance to get one soon.

Yesterday, Motorola Mobility (in fact it is Google now) introduced a new low-cost smartphone called Moto G (Does "G" mean "Google"?). Motorola claims that this new smartphone won't lose in performance to current high-end expensive smartphones such as Samsung and iPhone. The announced price will be $179 for 8Gb model, and $199 for 16Gb.

Here are the key feature of the new Moto G smartphone:

  • 4.5-inch HD display
  • Quad-core CPU Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400
  • All-day battery life.
  • The most up to date Android 4.3 Jellybean,
  • Interchangeable Motorola Shells and Flip Shells in seven colors as well as Grip Shells in five colors.

I think this is something that can change the market in the nearest future. If this smartphone will successed on the market, then other giants like Samsung and Apple won't have choice - they'll have to catch up and present their low-cost model, or even reduce prices for their current models. Which is, of course, great for us!

Currently, I am a Motorola Razr user, but I will keep an eye on this new phone and, who knows, maybe will buy it soon.
